ON4CEQ is a strange name isn't it.
My hobby is Ham radio and ON4CEQ is my call sign.
The first characters or PREFIX ON are assigned to radio amateurs of Belgium.
Every country has is own PREFIX. Example: DL = Germany and A, K, N, W = USAWhen we have contact (QSO) with another radio amateur we can tell by the prefix which country he is from.
The 4 in my call sign is license class A in Belgium.
Class C = ON2...
= Aspirant Radio Telephonist. (2 Meter)
Class B = ON1...
= Radio Telephonist. (6 meter and higher bands)
Class A = ON4,5,6,7 = Private radio
telegraphist.(80 meter and higher bands)
The last 3 characters or SUFFIX
are like the license plate of cars.
Our hobby offers a lot of possibilities
to make contacts with other
radio amateurs in different mode's.
Like Phone, Morse/CW ( Continous Wave ), RTTY ( Radio Tele Type ), Fax,
SSTV(Slow Scan TeleVision), Amtor,Packet, FSTV (Fast Scan TeleVision) etc.
My second hobby is experimenting and building antenna's.
Do you want to hear how it's sounds
on the HF bands and you want to see
my antenna projects, visit the
